Justice to one with unjustice to other ??
In Tamil Nadu, the 69 per cent (30% BCs, 20% MBCs, 18% SCs, 1% STs) quota was arrived at without any proper study of caste figures. This distribution may bear little resemblance to ground realities. Says P. Radhakrishnan, professor at the Madras Institute of Development Studies: "It was an arbitrary political decision with no sociological basis." As a result, SCs, BCs and MBCs have begun to outperform the so-called forward communities, cornering a majority of the open competition (OC) seats. In the 2005 medical entrance, out of a total of 1,445 seats in 12 medical colleges, 430 seats were available in open competition. As many as 321 BC, 57 MBC and 14 SC students made it in the OC list. Only 38 from 'forward' communities qualified. "This shows the upholders of merit are talking rubbish," says G.R. Ravindranath of Doctors Association for Social Equality.

Friends,
File a PIL in the supreme court asking for a commission to be set up to review the existing reservation policy. The government will not set up a commission on it's own as it will be seen as a move against the reserved castes( it's vote bank ) and also because Lalu Prasad Yadav( a member of the OBC lobby) is a major partner of the government, without whose support the government could collapse. The Congress government, if it has to survive has to ensure that it does not displease Lalu Prasad Yadav. The only way out is to get the courts to do the job. At the same time, we have to keep up with the protests and morchas and awareness campaigns on our part. We have to take the help of the lawyer community on this step which, I believe, is also supporting our campaign.
FRIENDS, IT'S TIME FOR US TO PETITION THE SUPREME COURT!!!
IT'S THE ONLY QUICK WAY WE CAN STOP THE GOVERNMENT!!!
Actually the greatest injustice is being done to:
1) Talented OBC and SC/STs from lower middle class families: These would get into great schools towards the end of the rankings. Now they either use the quota or give up their seat. How cruel is that?
2) The poor and the destitute: The big booboo called reservation will help the parties win election so they will do little else to help the real needy
3) Aspiring sections of the society: They are being given the wrong message. The economy was doing fine, the aspiring folks were beginning to see some light.
